Reduce
- We’ve been turning the computer and laptop off every evening.
- I pack a lunch nearly every day and eat lunch at work (instead of driving home and back at lunchtime)
- Nearly all the lightbulbs in our house are the modernized fluorescent bulbs (they use ~75% less energy)
Reuse
- Old plastic and glass jars and bottles are being re-used as glasses and storage containers.
- All plastic bags from various supermarkets are saved and re-used for other things
Recycle
- Glass bottle, tin/steel/bi-metal cans, plastics #1, 2, and 7 are all recycled through the city’s recycling service
- Kitchen scraps, junkmail, etc. are all composted in the backyard
